As a travel advisor, I want to go everywhere, see everything, visit every country. So I will start this blog with a confession. I haven’t visited Portugal yet. I was planning on visiting Portugal in this year, but of course, like all things travel, it was cancelled due to Covid-19.

Visiting the European Christmas market is an amazing way to kick off any holiday season. So how does that travel industry work? When I first got into the business, of course, I thought it would all be fun and shiny objects! While it is a lot of fun, it is a business, and there are moments that can be pretty darn challenging! (Especially this year!)

During times like these, I find that baking tends to calm me down, yet sometimes it’s hard to come up with creative ideas that Richard and I will both like (enter melting chocolate cake).
The news hasn’t been good: business and schools have shut their doors. Heck, even some countries have shut down. And the story is awful in other ways. For instance, I read that the divorce rate in China is heading north, and social distancing is to blame. Apparently, lots of forced alone time is not beneficial to many relationships.
