ROMANTIC THINGS TO DO IN PARIS

Few things conger up more romantic thoughts than Paris. There is just something about “Gay Paris” that makes you think of couples trips or dramatic backdrops for a candlelit dinner.  There are so many romantic things to do in Paris that I will just list the highlights and leave the rest to your imagination.

Romantic things to do in Paris

Romantic Proposal In Paris

Are you ready to pop the question?  What would be more romantic than proposing under the Eiffel Tower?  Or even just telling that “special one” that you love them under the Eiffel Tower?  There is just something so romantic about this Parisian icon, and all the thousands of gold lights twinkling.  They bewitch the senses.

Temple of Love

Vincennes, the temple of love and artificial grotto on the Daumesnil lake, in the public park, in autumn

This was built on the island of Parc in 1778.  The boat ride to the island is one of the most romantic things to do in Paris.  There is a replica statue in the middle, Bouchardon statue.  There is a belief that kissing your spouse in the middle of the temple will strengthen your bond of love.  After renewing your bond of love, you can go for a walk through the Piece d’Eau des Suisses garden, also very romantic, hand in hand.

Sunset Cruise along the Seine

And Paris is just so romantic during the golden hour.  Are you needing that special moment that you both will remember for years to come?  How about enjoying a sunset cruise down the Seine with your partner?  You can gaze lovingly on each other, while the landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral and Pont Neuf slowly drift past you.  When the boat is under the Pont Marie Bridge, don’t forget to close your eyes and kiss your loved one.  It is believed that kissing under the bridge and wishing for lifelong togetherness, your wish will be fulfilled.

Steal a Kiss at Lock Love Bridge

Especially if you are there for your honeymoon, the Pont des Arts must not be missed!  Its lovingly also known as the Lock Love Bridge.  It was the first metal bridge in the city.  Earlier couples in love used to engrave their names on locks and then throw the keys over the bridge.  While this is now banned, many couples still visit the bridge for a kiss and you can get the love locks online and have a memento of your trip to Pont des Arts.

Take a Stroll through Montmartre

Okay, so Montmartre is a favorite amongst lovers in Paris, with good reason!  Most lovers come here to visit the Basilica of Sacre-Coeur.  This monument played a big part in French history.  But even without the monument, walking through the narrow streets of Montmartre is an experience in itself. Another attraction for couples here, the Musee de l”Erotisme.  A perfect place for couples to spice up their romance! There are 7 floors of erotic artifacts and art that await the lovers.  Once finished with these two icons of Montmartre, stop at a lovely café where you and your partner can feel the magic of love.
