EUPHORIA OF EUROPEAN FESTIVALS

One thing Europeans do, and do big, is festivals. From traditional festivals featuring rituals and generational customs, to music and dance festivals with worldwide performers, there’s usually a festival for everything and everyone. Here’s a glimpse into some. Can you feel the euphoria of European festivals?

Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Typically referred to as “The Fringe,” this is the world’s largest art festival. This festival takes place over a number of weeks in August. These events that are held are not judged, so anyone can participate in anything. Therefore, there are a large range of entertainment such as theater, dance, cabaret, opera, music, and exhibitions. In addition, there’s also comedy shows that are highlighted due to the Edinburgh Comedy Awards that are given to the best of them.

Lavender Mob Festival

Provence is famous for its beautiful horticulture, especially its lavender fields. Beginning with a brilliant firework display above the river, the Lavender Mob Festival is a four-day, lavender-themed festival in Provence, France.

Importance

This festival highlights the importance of agriculture as well as local traditions and culture in the region. Festivities include marching bands, parades, boats covered with the spot lit flowers, and a nightly ball at the main square of the city. This is one of the biggest (and prettiest) festivals in Europe.

Amsterdam Light Festival

Each year, Amsterdam hosts a themed light show featuring artists from all over the world. Residents and visitors are able to witness the city transform into a canvas of light art through a route of 20-30 pieces of artwork. The route can be taken by walking, by bike, or by boat.

Youthfulness and inspiration linger in the air as luminous pieces of international art are showcased. The festival is currently on its 11th edition and has this year’s theme set as “Imagine Beyond”. Insomuch, it will be taking place from December 1st, 2022 until January 22, 2023.

Tomorrowland
Location: Boom, Flanders, Belgium

This festival is known as the largest electronic music festival. Tomorrowland is a festival hosted in Boom, Belgium and has become a recognized annual tradition. There is much that can happen during a weekend, and Tomorrowland goes big during its three day celebration.

Amazing Display

Big stages, Plenty of color, elaborate decorations, and a community of music lovers make this festival one to remember. Although Tomorrowland puts emphasis on electronic and Euro house music, many other genres and artists appear throughout the night, so there’s truly something for every music-lover here!

Europeans know how to party, and is home to some of the biggest, globally attended festivals. Therefore, planning an amazing luxury vacation while stopping in a town for a festival is a great way to experience a new culture in the most fun way.
