ISLANDS OF TURKS & CAICOS

An archipelago with one of the most famous tourism scenes in the Caribbean, the Turks & Caicos is a dream visit. On one hand, you have the Turks Islands of Grand Turk and Salt Cay to the east. The set of Caicos Islands include Providenciales, North Caicos, Middle Caicos, East Caicos, South Caicos and West Caicos. And there is plenty to see regardless of which islands you choose to visit. The Islands of Turks & Caicos, let’s explore!

Turks & Caicos

The Time To Travel Is In The Summer

While the weather at the Turks & Caicos islands basically permits year-round travel,
hurricane season tends to be less crowded. June through November (and especially
July) is that season, so it might be time to start looking.

Live Life On The Water

Because this is a set of islands, there is plenty to see and do amidst the sparkling
waves around them. If you are a fan of fishing, there is a wide array of fishing tours to
take part in. Perhaps you want to see the fish rather than try to catch them? Fortunately
for you, there are just about as many opportunities to dive around islands like Grand
Turk and West Caicos. If neither of those strikes your fancy, you can still just rent a boat
to ride around on and enjoy the scenes around you. The Big Blue Collective offers many
of these activities, as do Aqua Ti and Caicos Dream Tours. Regardless of who you
choose, you’ll get an experience to last the ages.

Food & Drink For All

Turks & Caicos wouldn’t have gained such a reputation if they didn’t have such a
delicious array of food and drink. If you choose to go in November, you get an
opportunity to experience the best of all the islands. The Caribbean Food and Wine
Festival takes place then, offering all sorts of wines and (shockingly!) food. Blends of
Caribbean dishes mix with Indian, Italian, Moroccan, Japanese, and more to create
some truly unique tastes. Queen conch is a local favorite, with other seafood like pan-
poached fish and fish stews both maintaining popularity.

Land Lovers Will Find Enjoyment Too

When you aren’t out on the water of these islands, you’ll still find plenty of enjoyment
here. Relax on beaches like the Governor’s Beach of Grand Turk and the Norbellis
Coves of Middle Caicos. If you want to stay up and moving, there are opportunities to
golf in Providenciales and Grand Turk. Horseback riding is another one that is popular
in both of those islands. Of course, there is also the option of exploring the history of the
smaller islands like Salt Cay. After all, there is much more than modern tourism that
makes up this region. Hundreds of years make up the culture and you can see that
reflected everywhere.

Regardless of which islands you choose, you’ll find a lovely experience awaiting you.
Take a trip in July and you could soon be on your way to one of the Caribbean’s top
locations. After all, we could all use a little break after the year that we’ve had.
