PUNTA DE MITA

A few weeks ago, I was in Mexico visiting a new area that I hadn’t been to previously. Punta de Mita is near to Puerto Vallarta, which is the airport that you fly into. There are some lovely properties in this area. Punta Mita is a 1,500-acre private peninsula that is home to the Four Seasons Punta Mita, St. Regis Punta Mita, and 16 sub-communities. Punta Mita is located on the north end of Banderas Bay in the Mexican state of Nayarit, about 10 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. I am going to give a quick review to a few of the properties that I visited in this area.

THE PERFECT VACATION

So, what creates the perfect vacation for my clients? It all starts with a discovery call to learn how the clients like to travel, what they are looking to get out of their vacation and what will make it memorable and special for them. This should be the main goal of any travel designer. Those clients that are just needing a quickie Mexico trip or the best bargain they can find are probably not really needing the services of a travel designer/advisor. That’s what Expedia was created for. But if you want an authentic, off the beaten path experience, where people meet culture and immerse themselves in the destination, then you have found the right place to create a perfect vacation.

COLORFUL CITIES TO SEE

radar city is off the coast of Naples. This city is lined with sherbet colored buildings and narrow little streets. The fisherman colored their houses brightly to see them from the sea. #1 of the colorful cities to see.

SIMPLY SCOTTSDALE

I have been craving a getaway as I haven’t travelled in the month of December yet. So, Richard and I are off to Scottsdale Arizona for a 3-day weekend. We will work from the pool on Friday and then enjoy the weekend with warmer weather than in Colorado. Have you ever thought about a long weekend getaway domestically? I will admit I am usually a “long distance” traveler. Simply Scottsdale, I thought I would introduce you to some resorts that you could enjoy during a long weekend here.

If you are like me, this is a tough subject! My passion is traveling and here it is Christmas time. Everyone wants ideas for gifts, and of course, I don’t really need anything. I crave experiences, new culinary delights, spending time in another country. Those do not really make great Christmas gifts. So… this edition… Travel lover gift gifting. ACTIVE ITALY TRIPS

This week I am at a virtual trade conference for Italy. What does this mean? It means that I meet with suppliers from Italy online on Zoom. I learn about new properties, new suppliers, new destination management companies, and more. Today, I had the pleasant experience of meeting with Dolomite Mountains. This is a destination management company, and they work with travel advisors (like me) to curate amazing experiences in their “country”. I cannot wait to share some of these amazing ideas for active travelers or skiers!

SECRET BOLOGNA EXPERIENCE

Richard and I were traveling through Bologna and I found the most special farmhouse/cooking class in the countryside of Bologna. The owners were lovely, engaging and we were in awe of the whole experience. A husband-and-wife team running a farm, restaurant, cooking school, and a B&B as well. This secret Bologna experience has stayed on top of our minds every time we think of Italy.

BEAUTIFUL SPAIN

What better time to talk about such an amazing destination than now, when I have just returned from a familiarization trip to Spain. I had the honor of learning about some amazing hotels here with a representation company, Creative Destinations. They present beautiful properties through Spain, France, and Italy. We stayed at 4 Virtuoso properties during my trip to experience for ourselves the service, hospitality, culinary delights, and more! Ah, Beautiful Spain.
