Tulip is transformed with a vast sea of flowers from mid-March to mid-May. In March, the season kicks off with crocus season, and this is followed by the hyacinths and daffodils. The tulips finally show their beautiful colors from mid-April through the beginning of May.
TULIPS IN HOLLAND
Cool nights and the long spring season makes Holland the perfect place for tulip growing. The soil is continuously drained, which creates perfect growing conditions for the bulbs, which love moist, but well-drained soil. If you are traveling to or through Holland in April, you will be amazed by the gorgeous color everywhere!
CANAL IN HOLLAND
Tulips are usually at their best in Holland about mid-April. More than 7 million flower bulbs bloom in the spring at the Keukenhof in Lisse. It is the most spectacular place to discover the many different kinds of tulips. However, just riding a bicycle through the rural fields or passing by on a train will work as well!!
AMSTERDAM
Where are the tulip fields? Well, most of the tulip fields in Holland are located in Noordoostpolder, in the province of Flevoland. The flower fields along the coast of The Hague and Leiden, up to Alkmaar in the north are also great locations to view these gorgeous flowers. The Keukenhof, the world’s largest flower exhibition, is famed for its many tulips. It is just a 15-minute drive from Leiden and about a 30-minute drive from Amsterdam.
Maybe it’s time to smell the roses (but really the TULIPS).
