ESCAPE TO ROMANTIC ISLANDS

Escape to Romantic Islands

An escape to a romantic island sounds like a dream, but everyone could use a little relief in these stressful times. What better way than to take you and your partner to some of the best and most beautiful islands in the world? Your inner honeymoon planner could use some assistance, which just so happens to be on offer here!

Beach

St. Lucia

This island in the midst of the Caribbean has become one of the most popular travel destinations in the region. One can easily see why. Fans of romantic travel can visit some of the couples-only resorts on the island like Ladera Resort. The palm-fringed beaches offer a trio of different sand types – white, gold, or even silver. You are able to take sunset cruises to watch the end of the day, relaxing with the waves underneath.

You can take a dive underwater, explore the jungle of the island or simply stroll around and see the sights. Regardless of your choice, St. Lucia will make it a spectacular experience.

At the time of writing, international travelers will need a negative COVID test taken no more than 7 days before arrival.

Bora Bora

Up next is the picturesque island of Bora Bora in French Polynesia. The dormant volcano watches over all romantic visitors who seek to experience the over-water bungalows. These floating villas are like something out of a dream, allowing you to live, sleep and wake above the water. Explore the 6-mile long island by renting a pair of bicycles or going swimming in the crystal clear waters.

Bora Bora

You can be as active or inactive as you want on this island. Hang about in the beach resorts or go hiking to Mt Ohue and Mt Pahia – it’s up to you. The seafood is waiting to be consumed. Mahi mahi and poisson cru (raw tuna) are just a couple of the local delicacies that you should try.

In terms of COVID restrictions, travelers must have a negative test within 3 days of their departure to the island. They must then self-test 4 days after arrival.

Capri

The beautiful island of Capri sits in the Bay of Naples. While the rocky peaks and mountains might not seem ideal for romantic vacations in Italy, it turns out not so. You and your partner can rent a boat to explore all the fantastic grottos and beautiful caves.

Capri

Once done on the water, hang out on the beach club Lido del Faro and relax in the sun. All the while, experience Italian food, wine, and culture to the max! Most importantly, you can acquire all the gelato that you would ever need.

COVID has currently shut down international travel in and out of Italy unless you have been in another EU country for 14 days.

The Maldives

Moving down to the Indian Ocean, we have the Maldives. Another land of crystal clear waters and beautiful beaches, lovers will want to stay here forever. You can stay at luxury hotels that sit on the water like Six Senses Laamu. Or you could look for more budget options like the Nika Island Resort & Spa. Either way, you’ll find no shortage of great options.

The pair of you can go boating, paddle boarding, swimming, or simply relax on the beaches. Regardless, make sure to bring lots of sunscreens, as you’ll need it throughout the day. Then sit back and enjoy your time in paradise.

The Maldives lifted all travel restrictions in July, though the islands are still monitoring for COVID. So they are open to travel, (thankfully).
